Pet Pain
Like their human companions, dogs, cats and horses can suffer joint pain. Our furry friends bring us joy and comfort and are members of the family. We worry about them when they don’t feel their best and we want the best care possible for them. But did you know that one of most common problems for dogs and cats is being overweight? We love them and show it with treats and extra food. Like humans, being overweight can create all kinds of health problems.
Pet Pain Solutions
For optimal health, provide quality food designed to meet the nutritional needs of our pets. Don’t just give them the pet-equivalent of junk food — table food and treats. Americans spent nearly $67 billion on pet food in 2016. With thousands of types of foods available today for dogs and cats, healthy choices abound.
I don’t own a cat (although I wish I did!) due of animal allergies. But I do own two wonderful dogs. I work very hard to keep them healthy by controlling their food portions and offering healthy treats of pieces of carrots, broccoli, lettuce, and apples.
Pet Weight
If your animal is overweight, he or she could struggle with exaggerated joint problems. Toy and miniature breed dogs, like Yorkies, Toy Poodles, etc. are especially susceptible to knee displacement and other associated problems. Larger breeds, like German Shepherds, Standard Poodles, etc. are prone to hip problems. Horses suffer sprains and strains relative to their sacroiliac joints.
Like humans, our animal friends lose collagen and hyaluronic acid (HA) as they age. Our dogs, cats and horses suffer knee, hip and back joint discomfort, just like we do. The difference is that they can’t tell us when they hurt. We may notice a slowdown in activity and think it’s just old age, but it could be joint pain.
We may suspect something is happening and then during a regular veterinary visit we learn our beloved dog or cat has a joint issue. Usually, pain relieving drugs or steroids are suggested to help ease the situation. Like human pharmaceuticals, those remedies have significant side effects.
If you could give your pets a product that could help improve joint function, skin, and coats, without harmful side effects, would you chose a different alternative to potentially harmful drugs?
